Hybrid renewable energy photovoltaic and darrieus VAWT as propulsion fuel of prototype catamaran ship

Currently, marine transportation in the world still uses fossil fuels. In addition to running low on supplies, fuels also cause emissions that global warming. Sea generates around 1,000 million tonnes of CO2 emissions. Therefore, exploration alternative energy is becoming a popular research direction. Several renewable sources include solar and wind energy. Indonesia has an average speed above 8 m/s at sea. Also, potential sun 4.8 kWh/m2. Based these sources, this study discusses from sunlight wind, which are implemented prototype catamaran ship. The results obtained experiment, total photovoltaic (PV) turbine generators 774 Wh. This can be used charge battery with specification 35Ah for 6 hours.
